Larrivee OMV-50 - OM w/ cutaway - Spruce/Mahogany Hardshell case

A member of Larrivee’s Mahogany Traditional Series, the OMV-50 is beautifully crafted true to Larrivee tradition, featuring all-solid-wood construction with mahogany back and sides, and a Sitka spruce top. Tasteful classic appointments include a hand-carved volute, a flat-top headstock, exquisite diamond inlays, herringbone trim, and cast bronze open-back tuners, custom engraved by Wendy Larrivee.  A unique Traditional Series feature is the enlarged soundhole, which works in concert with Larivee’s scalloped hybrid symmetrical parabolic bracing system to increase volume, low-end punch, and midrange presence.

Our Traditional Series was created with two things in mind. Create an instrument with traditional 'vintage' features like a flat-top headstock, hand-carved volute, and diamond inlays. But at the same time maintaining the unique tonal balance of the standard Larrivée symmetrical parabolic bracing system. An enlarged soundhole allows significantly greater mid-range punch, emphasizing the low end, and increasing overall volume. This 50 Series features our highest grade mahogany*, herringbone trim, traditional angled bone nut, and available in custom vintage Tobacco Sunburst finish. The casted bronze open-back tuners feature engraved design work by Wendy Larrivée. One of the many fine details that put this series in a category of their own.

*Our mahogany is FSC certified Khaya. Also known as African Mahogany or Tropical Mahogany.
